„XHTMLSuite is our best tool” UNRIC ICT-Coordinator Phillipe Chabot about XHTMLSuite
in an email to Lead Developer Bernhard Pfeifer
For an optimal implementation of XHTMLSuite into UNRIC website Phillipe Chabot already during the development stage contacted XHTMLSuite Lead Developer Bernhard Pfeifer, this allowed for professional reactions to all challenges in short term.
And a multi-lingual website of this dimension beyond doubt is a big challenge, and makes highest demands on a WYSIWYG editor. This is one of the reasons the ICT-Specialists of UNRIC chose XHTMLSuite, as the editor handles each particular character set of the 13 used languages absolutely properly – a quality that is noticeable especially in the Greek translation of the website and not least is a compelling precondition for valid XHTML source code and thus an important basis for building accessible sites.
XHTMLSuite Lead Developer Bernhard Pfeifer:
„Just before the release of XHTMLSuite 1.6 Phillipe Chabot contacted us the first time and after I had told Phillipe that the upcoming version of XHTMLSuite would offer special accessibility features and beyond that would be perfectly designed for use in UTF-8 encoded websites, we pretty soon were at one that XHTMLSuite 508 would be the optimal solution for unric.org. It was a great pleasure being able to help the UNRIC ICT-Team in implementing XHTMLSuite and thus becoming a part of a great and good thing”
The close collaboration allowed the team around Phillip Chabot and UNRIC Webmaster Nenad Vasic to develop a tailor-made solution which would meet the special requirements of UNRIC website authors and users. |
